Gala tasting of wines awarded in the competition Prague Trophy 2008 on 16th January 2009 from 1 to 7 p.m., Břevnov monastery, Prague 6 - Břevnov, Markétská 1
At 3 p.m. festive enunciation of Champions and the best wineries and importers

On 16th January 2009 a Gala Tasting of awarded wines will take place in the historically unique monastery of Břevnov. There will be appreciated the Champions of the competition Prague Trophy and the best wineries and importers. The last year’s and in history the first Gala Tasting in the monastery of Břevnov was attended by over 800 visitors from the Czech Republic, as well as from abroad, and it became one of the most prestigious viticulture events in Prague. This year over 300 wine varieties from more than 100 world’s wineries will be introduced on both floors of the Břevnov monastery.  The stars of the viticulture sky will meet here – representatives of the best local, as well as foreign wineries. In person there will be present John Umberto Salvi, holder of the prestigious title Master of Wine, world authority as for wine, who is one of the competition jurymen. He took patronage of the Gala Tasting and festival Prague Wine Week. From New Zealand, Tom Maling from the winery Kim Crawford in the Marlborough region will come to take over two Champions. The Champion price will be also personally taken over by Oliver Haag from the winery Fritz Haag, which won the title “Collection of the Year” in the guide Gault Millau WeinGuide 2008. Other winners of medals will come, too – Theo Haart from Weingut Reinhold Haart, Gerhard Grans from Weingut Grans-Fassian, Thomas Haag from Weingut Schloss Lieser, Lothar Kettern from Weingut Lothar Kettern and others.
